@curlykristen: So what do you do now? 👇 First, What is wet frizz? 🤔 -A fuzzy, stringy, webbed or “frizzy” look to wet hair. 😩How do I stop wet frizz though? Normally, the first thing I tell people to check is that they are staying on WET hair and 7/10 times the problem is fixed! 💧IF your hair is dripping wet and STILL FRIZZY it could be one of the following causes: 1. Build Up Hard water, chlorine , oil & product build up (especially if you use creams & retouch curls midweek) can sit on top of the hair follicle, preventing your hair from absorbing the moisture, water and product needed. 2. Proper Wash Routine Always shampoo the scalp only 2x. Follow with a conditioner and hair mask that matches your hair needs (all curls want moisture but fine hair needs a different kind of moisture than thick hair , what’s too much for one is not enough for the other) 3. Moisture or Protein Overload Sometimes we see frizz or notice our hair feels dry and double down on moisture (leave in, curl creams, deep conditioning, oil treatments and on and on) …BUT this can be the problem. ..OR.. you’re a blonde and you bond support this and protein treat that and the hair seems to be frizzy or break more so you think it’s not strong enough and so you add more BUT that could be the cause. 🚨Bottom line: It’s about balance… Curls need BOTH moisture and protein to thrive. Protein helps curls hold onto their structure and reduce breakage while moisture fixes the bounce and softness we all want. I know it can feel like everyone on the Internet has a different opinion or curly routine they swear by and it can be overwhelming.
