@fairygriefmother: I'm about to tell you something I genuinely wouldn't admit to anyone… so keep it between us. 🤍 Sometimes I catch myself looking for the bright side of losing Lee. I bought this house. I went for the promotion. I'm doing a Level 7 apprenticeship. Realistically, I probably wouldn't have had the time, energy or capacity for any of it if life had stayed the same. And then the guilt creeps in. Because the truth is, I'd hand every single achievement back without hesitation just to have him home. Maybe that's not optimism. Maybe it's just grief trying to survive. #grief #HealingJourney #confession
I had my partner die of a massive heart attack 2 months ago I still can’t get over it! It’s gets harder!

I miss my dad for who he was before he became poorly, but I wouldn't want my dad back how he was when he died as he had no life

It's your brain's way to process something so blooming difficult to understand, accept and process..
It's called coping rather than overthinking.. it's normal and definitely good to vocalise these thoughts.. take care of yourself

I tell myself my hubby is at peace now no more pain no more looking out at the workshop he just finished before he wasn’t able to do anymore woodwork, the times he sat in his chair flicking through u tube and not watching anything. Waiting on him 24/7 until his last breathe. People say ‘oh but you wouldn’t want him back like that’…. But selfishly yep! I would ❤️❤️😞

I do similar but for things like buying absolute shite online. I wouldn’t have done it because there would be an adult judging me, now free rein baby! 🙈😆

I'm really struggling to see the good in anything at the moment, because no matter how good it might be, it's still not him, I'd swap it all to not be living with this grief, to be with him 😭 it all just feels fake, fake attempts at happiness

I just had a micro version of this for the very first time - ordered a starter & chips as my dinner ... absolutely no way he would have that if he were here (eat normally, have a starter & main) It was fine. Nobody cared & I had exactly what I wanted. small brightside - no food policing ❤️

Please don’t beat yourself up about thinking this because your just trying to make sense of everything I’m sure he would be so proud of you for what you’ve done on your own and if him being unwell was stopping you from doing what you have done I’m sure he would have felt so guilty please take care 🙏❤️🤠

Yeah, I understand. For me it’s the guilt associated with the potential of being a better person. If I became a better person, why couldn’t I have it when she was alive? All in all, it’s a massive mindf*ck.
