I’ve always thought that 15 Percent Pledge was a grift and that Aurora was a plant. I’m Canadian born and raised in Toronto and I’ve never heard about Aurora until this org and her memoir. And typically, at least in Toronto, I never heard of Aurora’s name in the local celebrity circles

I work in event production with corporations and brands and this is happening more frequently with really BIG brands that you would never think to question if they have enough cash flow to pay you. So always insist on payment upfront!!!

I remember they had a “holiday gift shop” online for the 15 percent pledge a few years ago. The brands represented? Disproportionately James’ own brand (Brother Vellies) and various celebrity brands. At that point, it no longer seemed like a serious endeavor.
