@cbsnews: A U.S. citizen was left bloodied and injured after immigration agents mistook him for a fugitive in Evanston, Illinois, according to local police. Police said agents tried to handcuff the man after he refused to provide identification. They released him after determining he was not the person they were seeking. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries to his head, neck and teeth. In a statement to CBS News, the Department of Homeland Security said that "ICE encountered an individual who resembled the target. ICE approached the individual and immediately identified themselves as law enforcement. The individual was given lawful commands but was not cooperative and refused to identify himself. ICE officers relied on their training and later left the scene without further incident once the individual finally identified himself."
