Every time I cried, chased him, tried to convince him to choose our family, tried to explain how badly he was hurting me… it was almost like it gave him MORE power. Because he knew. He knew I was still there. He knew I still wanted him. He knew I was still fighting for us. He knew he could basically do whatever he wanted and I’d still be waiting on the sidelines hoping he’d come back. And looking back, I’m like… girl. STOP. 😭 Because the second I finally stopped begging? Suddenly HE wanted to work on us. Like… SERIOUSLY??? I think sometimes when you’re begging someone not to leave, they never actually have to experience losing you. They still have access to you while they’re out doing whatever the heck they want. So please, for your own sanity, stop begging. Not because you’re trying to play some stupid game and make him chase you. Because YOU need to get out of that dynamic. Let him wonder. Let him sit with his choices. Let him actually experience what life looks like without unlimited access to you. And if this man truly wants you? Great. Let him spend the next however many years SHOWING you. If five years from now he has consistently shown you that he changed, took accountability, did the work, and actually became someone you could trust again… then girl, reevaluate if YOU want to. But don’t sit there begging a man to choose you while he’s actively showing you he thinks he can have you whenever he feels like it. No. You’ve done enough.
