Archana Prasanna :
My dad died last year, when he was on a holiday. When I found out, I froze and my body shut down. The people that have helped me with my grief are the people who have gone through it. It’ll stay with me forever.

Losing a parent creates a void that is never filled. You go on living but a part of you died with them. And nothing can ever fill it. 😔

Your way of sharing and speaking about the pain and heartbreak you’re navigating will help so many more people than you imagine. Sending you love and support as you swim through the unimaginable. And they will always be in the rain, the sky, and your home 🩷

I don’t know you but I think of you often. I lost my dad in march and I feel like the center did not hold. It’s incomprehensible to endure.

Such a very long empty feeling when you loose your mother, prepare yourself. I lost my mother in my 20, my father when I was very young. Years later I still cry when I hear those Bajans sang at funeral or at my mom’s funeral.

You worded this so well. Thanks for explaining it to people who just don’t get it. Which is a good thing. I lost my mom 2.5 years ago and my dad almost 7 weeks ago. I thought I had grief all down pat after my mom (as much as I’d be able to in life at least). But my dad has sent me into this spiral. Nothing prepares you for having to let go of both. I was hanging on to him with dear life and now I can’t. And losing your dad (if you have an amazing one like me) makes it feel like you’ve lost your sense of security.
