@oysterstopearls: 🎀I never thought breast cancer would be part of my story.🎀 In 2021, I went from feeling happy and healthy to hearing the words, “You have breast cancer.” I had no family history. I never saw it coming. The years that followed brought a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, reconstruction, and a lot of moments I never could have prepared for. But they also brought an even deeper understanding of faith, family, gratitude, love, and the incredible people who show up when you need them most. And they changed the way I see my own story. That’s why this partnership with Susan G. Komen feels so personal to me. I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a breast cancer diagnosis, and I know how important it is to keep talking about breast cancer, not just during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but all year long. I’m honored to be beginning this longer-term partnership with Komen and to use my voice to share more of my story, encourage women to be proactive about their health, and hopefully remind someone going through this that they are not alone.
