Somewhat true it really depends on the dog & training if you’re just relying on a dog that hasn’t been trained in protection work yes out of the package a female will likely pull the trigger on an attack faster than the male but if you have both the male will fallow the females lead and attack with her bringing a force to be recorded with. There’s a downside if the attack wasn’t justified you will be in trouble. Male Rottweiler’s usually hold back until it’s clear it’s time to attack they think things through with a clear head and make a calculated decision females can get you sued if you don’t know how to train your dogs. If I had to choose just one it would be a male he would wait until I’m under attack then handle business. There’s a difference between an argument and a physical attack females don’t care it’s go time. Get whatever you want and and train your dog both will get the job done.

I’ve always had male Rottweilers but after losing my boy Rambo unexpectedly when he was only 5, I couldn’t get another Rottie. I got a female Saint Bernard and she is 100x more protective than my boys which shocked us. And she a bit stronger too!

I’ve only had males but that’s just cause I bond more with the males. I’ve always loved male dogs more. Growing up we had 4 GSD 2 male 2 female. That’s were it started cause of our 1st male GSD.
