I don't think she didn't work hard. She liked the sport enough to go way out of retirement, which requires much hardwork. But I definitely didn't think it was an Olympic gold worthy performance compared to others. It was so safe, I thought it's only an ice show performance. But I'm not the judge so... let's give credit where it's due. She got the medal, and no one can take it back. Let the woman be.

Especially when they say that shes scared of the Russians but if she was truly scared she woulda retired as a junior like😭😭😭😭 not to mention kamila, eteri, danil and sm other russians have spoken about how alysa is a great skater.

i can’t believe people think she didn’t work for her medal just because she said she was having fun. she was once a child who was taught by her evil coaching team that you either won gold or you lost. she adopted a healthier mindset and started working with coaches who literally adore her. that healthy mindset was the reason she skated clean at the olympics when her opponents did not, and that’s why she’s won. people like kaori, amber and ilia put far too much pressure on themselves. god forbid a girl love her sport and have a smile on her face while doing it

I’m genuinely just never falling for the alysa hate propaganda that the figure skating community likes to push. They genuinely get sooooo pissy when you praise her in any way. You could say “wow her biellmann is good :)” and they’d reply with a picture of a different skater doing one. Like ok. Do you feel better now. Is it out of your system?

amber said on an espn interview this summer that her mentality often gets mistaken for not working hard or just having fun at training when in reality she is working extremely hard, but that’s because it makes HER happy and it’s HER decision, so she just goes to competitions keeping that in mind. i feel like she is one that finds happiness in growth and not titles

ppl don’t understand her mindset when she says she has fun. she worked her ass off to come back in order to have fun because she genuinely enjoys figure skating now. just because she has fun performing during the competition doesn’t mean she didn’t work hard. plus her years before “retirement” were nowhere near fun and she faced so much pressure so she’s skating with a diff mindset now

people always confuse her relaxed attitude for not caring about the sport it’s soo frustrating. She said so many times she works hard, not to get as specific score or win, but to give the best performance she can possibly give.

People are upset cuz she chose to live her life AND Perdue figure skating, and was still able to win. they’re used to the idea of a skater throwing their life away to become a pro skater

not just rotation issues, in her very early competitions you can see how stamina was also a problem for her, making a change from not skating/stretching at all for 2 years to having to jump a whole program takes a lot of practice. I remember her mentioning how early on she couldn't even jump 2 triples back to back, look at her now.

I hate when they spam Eteri girls under her clips lol. Alysa and Sasha have such similar stories of overcoming abuse and learning to love skating once they started doing it on their own terms!!
