first day of sophomore year the gym teacher took us on a 3ish (maybe more) mile walk in about 100 degree weather. half way through i couldnt think, i could barely talk, couldn’t walk straight, could barely see or hear, and kept puking in my mouth. i told the gym teacher i didn’t feel good and she told me i was fine. anyway i was on the verge of a heat stroke and when we got back to the school i immediately got a drink of water and left the class bc my mom was there to take me to the ER and when she told me to come back to class and i said no she told the rest of the gym class that i was mad she made me walk? btw we couldn’t bring water bottles on the walks either

I had a similar issue. Most of my teachers were chill but one time I had a sub do that and I just walked out and to the office. Luckily I never had her as a sub again.

I had open heart surgery in the 3rd grade and ended up having the same teacher again in the 5th grade. She wouldn’t let me call my parents when I was having chest complications and I ended up being hospitalized because of it….. nothing was ever done by the school, even tho she knew I wasn’t faking my condition 😒😒

an adult once yelled at elementary school me “what is wrong with you!?! a normal child should be able to go an hour without using the bathroom” guess who has interstitial cystitis and decades of bathroom trauma to make it worse

When I was in first grade, I had an inhaler in the front office and anytime I needed to use it for my asthma I would have to go to the office. One day my mom bought me this eraser that smelled like blueberries and I loved the smell of it but I didn’t want to look like a weirdo smelling my eraser so I covered it up to my hand and smelled it. My teacher saw me and accused me of bringing an inhaler to school. She screamed at me and brought my mom in and she started screaming searching my bag for this medicine. When they couldn’t find it, they accused me of hiding it. I told them it was the eraser but they didn’t believe me. Fast forward 10 years after that happened I brought it back up to my mom and said remembered when that happened. She still refused to believe me it was an eraser which is wild. Why would I maintain a lie like that for years lmfao. Makes my blood boil to this day

I've told my kids to just leave if it's an emergency, go straight to the office, and let me deal with the fallout. This was after a substitute nurse sent my child back to class with a migraine. (Yep, they are documented in his file she didn't check) He texted me from the bathroom on the way back to class. I barely controlled my rage when I signed him out. (I didn't want to make him wait to get home bc I made a scene) The email I sent later was strongly worded.

similar but not similar I have epilepsy and over heating puts me at a huge risk for seizures I also over heat faster then other people my middle school gym teacher caused me to have multiple seizures because he never believed me that I was getting over heated by running

this is why I think its so important to teach your children that just because its an adult doesnt mean you have to listen to them to your own detriment. I wish you would have felt comfortable to ignore the teacher and just go to the nurse on your own.

I was in elementary school and I've always had a problem with eating certain foods, some random teacher in the lunch room that day saw I had untouched squash on my plate and forced me to eat it until I threw up. some people just have power trips with whatever they can get.

My 3rd grade classroom was in an annex that didn’t have AC so we’re all constantly filling up our water bottles. My teacher denied everyone refills for the rest of the day even though it was 90+ degrees. I got home lethargic & puking, ended in the ER with heat stroke. Mom was furious and teacher never bothered me again 😭 THEN in 5th grade I asked to see the nurse bc I felt nauseous and I was having bad cramps, but the nurse kept ignoring me. I made myself puke to get her to call my mom only after that I couldn’t stop and it was actually appendicitis 🫠

In the 4th grade I had a teacher bully me to the point where she laughed at me when I had to miss the first hour of school for my uncles funeral… thats just the tip of the iceberg with her ass.

I was in theatre freshman year and my friend collapsed in pain during a rehearsal bcz she’d had surgery on the bones in her leg, and during the dance a piece of bone caught a NERVE in her leg. I forget what her condition was but she had huge scars down her legs from surgeries. Our director/theatre teacher didn’t pause the rehearsal and didn’t check on her until the number was over, my friend had to crawl herself into the wings to be out of the way so nobody stepped on her 😭 Director was mad as hell till her parents showed up with a wheelchair, then she faked feeling bad as if she didn’t watch my friend drag herself off stage and did nothing
