@jeremyfindsai: How The Manhattan D.A. Is Fighting Illegal Deepfakes The Manhattan D.A.'s Office has seized 12 websites that published or sold nonconsensual AI-generated videos. More than 1,200 people had their faces and bodies turned into deepfakes on those sites, making it the largest known seizure of its kind. I interviewed D.A. Alvin Bragg to understand how a recently updated New York law made this takedown possible, why his office is going after the websites themselves, and why victims don't have to live in Manhattan to come forward.
