My mom left me in the car at 10 y/o with my baby sister with the AC on so she could go do the grocery shopping. The cops came to the door of the car and started banging on it telling me to open the door and I kept refusing because stranger danger of course. Then they started flashing their badges and me in the face with their flash lights and said if I didn’t open up I’d be in huge trouble with the police and I started to get really scared and started crying because I thought that meant they’d take me to jail so I did. They asked where my mom was and I told them. Once they found her and she got outside they arrested her because I opened the door. And the officer was like “we could’ve been anyone and your kids would be gone because your daughter opened the door for us” like no dude you threatened a child that bad things would happen to her if she didn’t and me and my sister were chillin listening to Christmas music with the AC on we were fine. The case ended up being thrown out since it was 2008 and they didn’t care to much about that stuff then but that traumatized me as a child.

This is why I’m so glad my boss is able to watch my toddler for me to clean houses iv waited 2 years for daycare assistance and Headstart and it’s crickets so many parents are stuck not working or homeless due to no child care I’m sure that widely lady would have allowed that child in the home

I have 3 kids. No matter how fast I need to run into somewhere .. I take all of them in. Unless I have someone to sit with them in the car. I just can’t. I totally feel bad for this mom because I feel like she thought this was her only choice. But This world is scary and people will literally take a kid out of a car while you’re putting in the groceries.

The baby should not be left in the car the breaks could have failed, someone could have stole the car, the baby could have had a medical emergency, along with many other things. As someone who used to clean houses there have been times where I had to put my daughter in a carrier and clean with her strapped to me and if someone wasn’t ok with that then I’m sorry I can’t do the cleaning

Sooo let me guess, the lady customer wouldn't let her bring in her kid and she had to make money. She should've left absolutely but this is very sad that life is so expensive parents have to decide between providing or daycare.
