Nahhh, he's the PERFECT protag for this..... I love the 'normal guy dropped into crazy situation' stuff & I think Austin absolutely NAILED it... The screams sold it to me, it didn't feel like it was 'put on'

I love horror films putting normal people into these weird situations, it’s why I love films like the descent, attack the block and even the thing. They all show a wide range of reactions and different attitudes towards the situation and all of them equally fair, it helps you to imagine yourself in the film making it much more terrifying

i loved being able to follow along bryan's problem solving bc most of the time it made sense for the type of situation he was in. and the few times, like with the bloated guy in the sewers, where he went towards the danger in a way that made me question, still felt like it made sense for his character. even if it felt a little dumb (characters are allowed to be a little dumb) especially when the world makes zero sense around them. he wanted to help everyone and that was a heartwarming but heartbreaking through line that made the movie hit the way it did.

I’ve reconciled that everything I don’t like about this movie is subjective and it’s a pretty good movie that I didn’t like. That’s ok! Not everything is for everyone. But one of the things that immediately took me out of it was the whole organ donor thing. That is NOT how transplants are are transported holy shit. Unless that is how it’s done in the states. Then thoughts and prayers guys oh my god.
