@daveycantcook: Aside from the mistake of using the pre-shredded cheese (maybe I didn’t put enough?)this ended up tasting really good. Only used two containers and the prep was super simple so I’m determined to try this one again and make it right! Next time I think I’ll cut the onions a little thiccer and instead of quartering before slicing I’ll use halves. And definitely going to slap some thick cuts of cheese on top to broil instead of shredded because it all just kinda sunk to the bottom. Thank you for watching! Sorry, confused . Did it not ask you to rip bread or even put a slice of bread on the top and THEN add the cheese ? Everytime I have ordered to eat the soup in a restaurant or made it ( one time in like 2002) it called for ripped baguette or bread to put on the top then you throw the cheese on the bread and then you broil it ! Thats why it’s not supposed to sink to bottom

pre shredded cheese is coated with starch, typically potato starch and its hard to get it to melt smoothly
