The sad part about this is that people will no longer be able to make film their careers. If we all have to produce our own stuff, typically that’s going to be done on a volunteer basis. Which is fine but people used to be able to get paid to be on set making entertainment 😭 we won’t get that in a YouTube model because there won’t be enough revenue to pay the crew as well as the cast. Throwing away all the protections that the unions have worked for decades to get is tragic.

This^^^ We all need to stop cheering for studios like we’re owners, because we’re not. Cheer for the workers who make the stuff you like. I feel like more people are becoming aware because they choose projects like Curry’s over Spielbergs in 2026.

Every single project has project sponsors in every industry. So that model won’t and can’t die, under the current economic model. The issue isn’t that, the issue is it’s a freelance industry with no profit model. There should be creative industries that hire and profit of repping as much talent as possible that studios can buy like temp agencies, so that way artists can have constant employment. YouTube isn’t an answer to big budgets. Projects cost money.

Hollywood's failure to properly appreciate or respect animation is enough of a reason for it to die. an entire unique medium of entertaining people and telling compelling stories, yet most refuse to see it as anything more than a means to entertain children. its exactly why indie animation and japenese anime have gotten so popular as they actually make animated content for all ages, not just kids
