Theism to me is exactly like your parents having to make up lies surrounding rules they want you to follow so that you’ll behave according to their standards. Example: my brother and I were told that if we ever participated in a solo activity that involved a particular member of our bodies, that member would fall off. Completely false, but the tactic worked for a bit until we educated ourselves.
