I was a public defender. Some suck some are great. You don’t need to sleep to do what you need to do while working as a public defender.

tbf there is a conversation that needs to be had about the fact that we cannot competently & diligently rep our clients if we're exhausted, hungry, etc. but the industry isn't ready to have it

it's sad that is the reality. that was me at my previous job at a private firm. now in a government position and I'm well rested. so thankful for that though as I know it isn't the norm.

When I did litigation, you were correct. Now that I don’t do litigation, I sleep like a baby.

Slept 45 min the last 2 nights 😭. Please tell me why the SECOND the lights go out, my brain starts running an Ironman?! Every detail of what I should do at work tomorrow pops into my head. It drives me insane until I start emailing myself. I talked to my dr today about my insomnia, and he told me to lose weight 😂 Hahahelpme.

People are being weirdly defensive and trying to act like they’re better than you. I am a lawyer and I know exactly what you mean.

I don't doubt a LOT of attorneys don't sleep. However, all of them should explore why! I am not an attorney but I work closely with attorneys setting up billing processes and office/case workflow procedures (great at finding painpoints). I didn't sleep, I thought it was my work. Turns out it was ADHD. I love the work the legal field does and pray individuals can find that rest. It's well deserved. And, God forbid I need a criminal defense attorney, but if I did, I would hire you! 💗
