I've been job hunting for a few months and I came in and told my SO that I was so excited about a specific interview - it was meaningful because I'm switching fields and all of the interviews I normally get are from my old field, but this was from the new field - he said that I shouldn't be so excited, that the job market is really rough and that he thought I was counting my chickens before they hatch. I wasn't counting anything, I was just excited someone from the field I'm trying to get into thought my resume was good enough to reach out. So pretty much from that point on he gets no updates.
