I'm saying this as a believer,we were perfectly fine when we used to be animism rather than Catholic or Christian.i mean the logic of us "going to hell" for not knowing god is just wrong,we were worshipping his creation and we were technically worshipping him.(correct me if I'm wrong I'm open for correction or kind argument)

it's actually sad that my grandfather (japanese) had to hide my grandmother (Filipino) when japan attacked the Philippines, he didn't want her to be tortured or murdered because he fell in love with her during the war, he was too softhearted to actually kill others that's why he regretted joining the army [but they both survived] (different country but still connected to colonialism)
