hey so no idea who neurodivergent nate is and i'm not questioning whether or not he is ableist, but to be neurodivergent is to be disabled. to receive a medical diagnosis of a neurodivergent condition is to have the traits of that condition impact you in a way that meets or exceeds the threshold for disability. disabled people can still be ableist and even eugenicist.

ADHD is technically a disability, but it doesn't excuse you from internalized ableism, and it doesn't give you the right to compare a 15 minute tiktok video to a full-time job that you have to first find reliable transportation, then you have to actually GET the job, then you have to work for at least 8 hours a day 5 days a week. 40 hours a week in total, as thats (in my state) what counts as full-time. Having ADHD does not give him the right to speak on all disabilities and disabled people.

i dont agree with neurodivergent nate on anything but my biggest issue with Shy is that she's trying to bring a dog into an unsafe environment where it isnt going to get the enrichment and care it'll need to train as her service dog. Like nothing against anyone who needs a service dog especially if they're in the position to get one but Shy is in NO POSITION to train and own a dog not to mention she does not have consistent, stable income or a safe environment for the dog. Also former supporters have came out allegedly claiming she was scamming them. Like I'm disabled/chronically ill myself and I'm all for anyone doing anything to improve their quality of life or searching for answers, but what I don't agree with is irresponsible ownership of animals service animal or not and I don't agree with anyone being a horrible person this applies to Nate as well. You can be disabled and a horrible person, you can be neurodivergent and a horrible person. I didnt agree with ANY OF THE ABLEIST RHETORIC used against Shy because that isn't cool AND NO ONE DESERVES THAT. but i cannot support or defend someone willing to cause harm to anyone or any animal, and basically be irresponsible

also that person has a condition called chronic fatigue syndrome, not autism. he thinks hes like the benchmark for all disabled people. i stg i hate the level 1 autistics who think they can speak for people with genuine disability. i have more severe autism and ive tried to work jobs so many times i can never hold a job due to my disability. i end up getting fired bc i require to call in so often.

I agree the person you're talking about is completely awful. But you cannot be diagnosed with autism or ADHD unless you can show their ongoing disabling effect on your life. I was disabled by autism for decades before I was disabled by myalgic encephalomyelitis. It is different, and doesn't qualify him to speak about specific disabled experiences he doesn't share. But it is disability and none of us should be telling other disabled people they're not disabled, even if they're horrible and we wish they'd go away.

Eveytime he comes up I love to remind people he self admitted he isn’t autistic himself. That video is deleted now but this drama happened all the way back in either 2022 or 2023 and I’ll never forget it. He had made a bunch of really strange videos about autism (like talking about how close a total cure was, how autistic people needed MORE inner shame. Shit like that) and proclaiming a whole bunch of NONSENSE and kept appealing to ‘personal experience’. After the entire comment section kept pestering about what the personal experience was and a bunch of comments saying “how could you say this as an autistic person when you’ve experienced what bullying is actually like” or somethin similar, he made a video response that he himself isn’t autistic but that he worked with autistic kids frequently. In another video he admitted it was only 2 separate autistic children he just kind of happened to know. Then after that, people in the comments kept asking what neurodivergence he had exactly because he never specified it. He ignored the comments for so long and eventually he started mass deleting any videos connected to these takes and started lying afterwards and saying “no I never said that”. He is a lying liar and the way he dodged questions I would genuinely be unsurprised if he isn’t actually diagnosed with ANY neurodivergence, but rather self diagnosed (badly) with “general neurodivergence” in order to avoid people pointing out ‘oh but that wouldn’t make sense’ because he most often used to like to point out how he was just coping the best compared to every other neurodivergent (most often autistic people but sometimes ppl with ADHD too) to the point where it became like “you guys LET YOURSELVES be disabled but I also experience that a little and it’s not that bad at all you’re all being dramatic and I’m not). He is a malicious liar and has been for years and everytime he gets called out by a large number of people he deletes all evidence of his takes! He’s like the cockroach that never dies in our community please people PLEASE listen to those of us who have seen how he acted before he got super big.
