When I was dating my husband, he had said he wanted to finish college and establish his business before getting married, so I was thinking I’d be 25 when we got married. I was willing to wait. Not happy about it, but willing. A month later, I had to have a major emergency surgery and stayed in the hospital for nearly a month. I got an engagement ring for Christmas - 20 days after my surgery - and we got married five months later which wasn’t soon enough for him. He said he was terrified he was going to lose me, so this absolutely makes sense.

From a biological standpoint, men questioning whether the cheating wife had sexual relations may be due to trying to identify if a potential child is theirs, while women want to know if their cheating husband will still be around to help raise potential child(ren)
