Mathematics has the concept of infinite sums, where you take infinite series of numbers and add them all together, occasionally even though the series is infinite, sometimes you arrive at a finite number. When performing this exercise however, they stress the importance of adding them up in order, because with some such sums you can arrive at arbitrary results just by changing the order in which you add them together. I think of this, when faced with ups and downs: If I just wait counting the downsides till I have accumulated more/greater upsides, my running sum will always stay positive. Even if the total at the end of my life turns out to be negative, I will have lived all my life in the positive. 😊

I just wanted to say that It's kind of a sign for me because I chose Medical field in the beginning but I got distracted and some bad things happened I did very bad in exams and for Graduation I chose English as a major and I was kind of okay with it but recently a lot of people around me started telling me that medical field would've been best for me and I started thinking maybe I made a wrong choice due to how heartbroken I was due to which I didn't persue medicine but after listening it I realized no maybe this was all meant to be like it ... Otherwise I wouldn't have a chance to make such good friends I have now and get a chance to study under the supervision of such great teachers who taught me how to be a better version of myself... so yeah not everything that seems bad might really be bad ♥️

I heard this proverb for the first on graham weavers TikTok 3 years ago. I was in the bathroom, preparing for a a meeting that left me fired from my dream job. It didn’t feel like it at the time, but that was maybe the best thing that happened to me in my entire 20s. Yes, the severance was bigger than I imagined, but more importantly I finally was able to give myself permission to go chase my dreams. Sharing this not to show how the proverb was true, but how believing that it could be true helped get me through the fear that led to something greater than I previously could have imagined for myself. Life is life, we’re all just lucky to live it
