After 61 minutes of resuscitation efforts, as medical staff prepared to declare his death, his parents and others prayed for the intercession of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. James then began to breathe, and his heart started beating. Following a Church investigation, Pope Francis approved the healing in 2019 as a miracle attributed to Sheen’s intercession. Today, James is a healthy teenager—and carried Blessed Fulton J. Sheen’s relic during the Beatification Mass. Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us.
