yellow direct synonyms, green parts of a whole, blue subject specific things, purple letters added. and the theory still holds: yellow and green take words at face value, blue and purple take words out of context!

Once I narrowed down Foamily, Genius and Border, I spotted purple. I was expecting foamily to be wordplay, so that helped.

if it's any help, what I mean by face value is that the words you see are used in their defined context. so the words for luxe (bougie, fancy, posh and swank) and the words for parts of a mechanical clock (escapement, pendulum, ratchet, spring) are how they are defined. what I mean by out of context is that the words are not used in their defined context. the words for famous Dans (Aykroyd, Levy, Rather, Savage) and the words for taxonomic ranks plus a letter (border, classy, foamily, genius) are not used in their defined context. that's the simple way to divide yellow and green from blue and purple. the typical color code crack with exceptions and distinctions is what I formulated for the colors themselves but I realize that many people don't understand that enough. just remember, yellow and green take words at face value, blue and purple take words out of context.
