Everyone's jumping on this woman for one bad moment, but nobody's talking about why she snapped. She runs a brick-and-mortar restaurant in California, drowning in taxes, permits, overhead, and the state just legalized sidewalk vendors who don't carry any of that weight and can undercut her on price right outside her door. The ICE comment was wrong, no question. But she didn't say it because she hates her own people. She said it because she's watching everything she built get squeezed out of existence and nobody in power seems to care. One terrible moment doesn't erase the real problem here, which is a system that made it nearly impossible to run a business and then legalized a competing model that doesn't have to play by the same rules. It's easy to call her a racist and move on. It's harder to look at what actually pushed her there.
