I saw that they casted James Franco and Jenny Slate as characters in the movie, but correct me if I'm wrong, aren't they playing filipino fokelore characters in the Philippines? If so, I always thought the casting was odd for it.

sa totoo lang hindi mo sila masisi na hindi panuodin nya halos kalahati ba naman ng cast is can't speak fluently pilipino and there's american cast din plus yung filipino accents it's so force to the point na cringy na sya pakinggan even the main character can't speak our language recently lang naman nya inacknowledged ang pagiging half pinoy nya 😅

I expected it to be corny after watching the trailer, but it completely blew my expectations out of the water. One of the best animated movies I’ve seen in a long ahh time. Dreamworks was cooking with this one ✌️trailer was misleading and made it look like a movie centered for kids

I watched it and cried, they depicted filipino culture so beautifully even stories from our lolas, the filipino bday parties, filipino food, karaoke, mode of transportation and baybayin language 🥹 we should hype forgotten island fr ❤️
