When they ask me "plastic?" - I regularly do the following: Show my bank card and say, "yeah, paying with plastic". Very quickly they then ask: "Plastic bags for you Sir?" Which always gets a very friendly response from me... "aaah, you meant plastic BAGS... yes please"
