I stopped playing a while ago (shortly after Ultron was released), but the writing has been on the wall for a long time. It started with a certain type of player crashing out in casual play & shortly after the racist, homophobic, & misogynistic player names started coming in & reporting them became useless. The devs are sinking their own ship by letting this get as bad as it is.

Marvel has had rough patches before. I remember the years where they wrote off the Fantastic 4 and essentially blacklisted the X Men and mutant stories for ‘corporate synergy’. Always hope things will get better but just know no company or IP is perfect and they will put profits above everything.

This makes me sad. I want to cry. I've been creating spotify playlists for the rivals community since 2024-early 2025 and since then, I've gotten nothing but hate ( for who I am, what I play, etc ). Even on the official discord server I've been told racist stuff + more ( Some I tried to forget ). One of the recent ones was where a random guy said this: "The likes of you" ( What does he mean by this? ) "should not play supports and get boosted and throw people's games" ( So hate + false claims )
