You can do all the “snatched waist” core exercises on the planet, but until you understand how to breathe…none of it matters. Last week to save 25% on the mA$$ Builder Challenge. Comment MASS or link in bio. We start 10/12!! Before we lift, I walk you step by step on how to manage core pressure and actually get results! 🎈 Here is why a balloon can tell me A LOT about how you manage pressure through your core. If I hand you a balloon and say “blow this up,” and your shoulders rise up, chest puffs out. I have my answer. Because when you exhale under load, you are going to put a ton of pressure down on your pelvic floor and out against your belly. You are essentially “backwards” breathing and this can make trying to heal your core, flatten your tummy, or improve your prolapse or leaks WAYYYYY harder. And if you are blowing a ballon this way, I know this is how you are breathing when you pick up heavy stuff or do your core exercises. So why do we lose touch with how we are supposed to breathe and manage pressure? Years of sucking in our stomachs. Living in tight waistbands and compression leggings. “Bracing” our core all day to make up for weakness. The diaphragm and pelvic floor work together. Here’s what I want: INHALE → diaphragm descends, ribs expand 360°, belly is allowed to soften/expand and the pelvic floor lengthens. EXHALE → diaphragm rises, ribs recoil, abdominal wall responds and the pelvic floor recoils/lifts. Think DOWN + TO THE SIDE on the inhale. UP + IN on the exhale. Come do the 6-week challenge with me. We build serious strength AND work on our core and pelvic floor! #diastasisrecti #pelvicfloor #mommytummy
