Sounds like the neighbors ended up finding something better than the game so they gave the tickets but needed to make the money back so they knew that op and her husband wouldn’t take the tickets if she said “buy them off of us for 300$” so she quote on quote gave them the tickets and tried to be sneaky and then say “you owe us 300$” those neighbors are very manipulative.

Story 1: Absolutely NTA. And as a former restaurant worker, "Thanks OP" for not asking to "squeeze one more person in" for your reservation at the last minute. Story 2: NTA. The neighbors are 100% wrong for asking for money after the fact. I wouldn't give them a penny.
