@carrotlaneofficial: I got some stick for saying you should use the “how you feel” test. People said to me, “Oh, we’re trading on feelings now, are we?” Well, one, this is not a trading account. Because good old-fashioned buy and hold good assets beats almost everything. But two, yes. It is based on how you feel. When you don’t know what will happen with certainty, you have to make decisions around your own circumstances and minimise regret. Too many people here are holding out and wishing for October lows, when the anecdotes are showing something very different. I think it’s much riskier being underexposed to something that can run up quickly in price than allocating and having the price drop in the short term. A condensed DCA gets you somewhere near the sweet spot.
