@realmusic9374: #davidallancoe #theride #live #outlaw #countrymusic Released in 1983, The Ride is a classic outlaw country song by David Allan Coe that reached number four on the Billboard charts. The lyrics tell a spooky story about a hitchhiker heading to Nashville who accepts a ride from a stranger in an old Cadillac. The mysterious driver turns out to be the ghost of Hank Williams, offering sobering advice about the hardships of a music career. The track stands as one of Coe's most iconic recordings, blending supernatural myth with a powerful tribute to country music history.

David Allan Coe was a controversial outlaw country singer whose legacy is heavily marked by the release of independent, X-rated underground albums containing racist, misogynist, and homophobic slurs.
