playing a tournament is the same as playing a league, the deference is the period of time, a tournament is played in a day or two or at the most three and the league takes months and at the end of it all there are a number of positions and prices whiles in gambling it's winner takes all point number 1. Secondly in a league or tournament the fee you pay there is called participation or affiliation and in gambling is called stake or pot . With that said it's a NO and you guys will conclude

From my opinion l think it depends on your motive to participating but l don't consider playing a tournament as gambling because some of us play tournaments for fun

Howzittt Sandile, playing in a tournament is definitely not gambling, because if it is then any tournament in any sport would be considered gambling. The difference is when someone wins a tournament they are playing with many players and the prize money is awarded to a few players that reach a certain stage gambling is more often on a one to one basis.
