It would make alot of sense if ei was to gain authority of death because its always been hinted that there's a connection between ei and ronova. We see this in the story teaser: The solitary pursuit of lighting on genshins yt, Ronovas wings appear behind Raiden. In inazuma where tenshuka is there's a statue that resembles ronova, the statue has her wings and her bangs. In Raiden shoguns gameplay her skill is an eye with a pupil of an electro symbol this also heavily resembles ronovas design with her also using an eye/eyes to represent how death sees everything/observing. EVEN in Raiden shoguns skill set description it talks about ending the heavenly principles and in Raiden shoguns character trailer on yt she talks about the heavenly principles: "Only through Eternity are you closest to the Heavenly Principles." Another detail of similarities between ronova and ei is that they both were introduced with crows.

eternity is closest unto the heavenly principles, mirroring how beelzebul is closest unto lucifer himself. lest we not forget ei and makoto’s mysterious origins of being born to a ‘holy strike of lightning’ and ei carrying the wings of ronova not only on her statue but in her literal shadow or in others words her shade.
