@novaramedia: Oscar-winning actor Susan Sarandon was arrested while protesting Benjamin Netanyahu’s address at a UN general assembly in New York on Thursday. Hannah Einbinder from HBO show Hacks, WikiLeaks whistleblower Chelsea Manning and Indya Moore from Pose were also among more than 100 people detained outside the UN headquarters. Footage showed police cuffing Thelma & Louise star Sarandon, who was wearing a T-shirt that read: Fund People Not Bombs. Inside the building, an estimated 77 UN delegates walked out as Netanyahu took to the stage. A UN commission of inquiry concluded last year that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza. Actor Elliot Page was also present at the demo – organised by Jewish Voice for Peace – alongside New York City councillors and Democratic congressional candidates.
