I had 4 IV iron infusions privately. Worked amazingly well. I have managed to maintain high iron levels since only because of going on the pill again (Yasmin) and not taking a break to have any bleeding. I will probably have to stop Yasmin at 50 or so and try to think of another way to prevent heavy blood loss from periods.

My ferritin is 16 & hemoglobin is 12 with b12 of 219 ( grey zone) but I’m doctor says everything is normal. Have extreme fatigue & can’t even go for walk without being breathless, dizziness daily & anxiety is the new symptom. How can this be normal.

my hemoglobin was a 67 and I was only offered a blood tranfusion not IV.

My daughter who is 24 is suffering with fatigue; blood results state B12 and Ferritin are low but just above the deficiency threshold. Her haemoglobin is satisfactory, it’s the other two which seem to be flagging lower, all other bloods are showing at normal levels. She’s having a celiac test and I have Lupus/Sjorgens - could this be something easily fixable or something more?

Male here from US. Ferritin levels 2022 130+, post covid steady decline 2024-present sitting at 25 now. No root cause identified. Been feeling awful obviously. Bypassed insurance for private iron IVs as supplements did not raise my #s. $350+ per infusion venofer.

Is it true that iron blocks iron absorption? I read somewhere to take iron orally every other day because taking it daily would block its own absorption (not sure the exact mechanism but the general principal is take it every other day)

My ferrin was 14, taken iron tablets for 3 months and ferritin now up to 75. I'm 43 and have heavy periods, concerned that I will just gradually get low again now off tablets.

Had 2 iv iron infusions 15 months ago, ferritin now 6 and hemoglobin 107, having another iv iron infusion Tuesday. It seems to last 10 months then starts falling again, I have a fibroid in my uterus could this be a cause.
