I think that may be part of why God reveals Himself to us as Father. And I’m not saying that as some cut against women or saying women are somehow less valuable. I’m talking about the way fatherhood has traditionally represented authority, protection, provision, and responsibility within a family. Especially in the biblical world, the father was understood as the head of the household. So when God reveals Himself as Father, that language immediately communicates authority, but also protection and care. That doesn’t mean masculinity is somehow more valuable than femininity. Men and women are both created in the image of God. I’m just saying the image of Father carries a kind of authority that people immediately understand. And Christianity doesn’t present God as some distant ruler barking orders either. He’s Father
