The system has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours. What is an Invest? An Invest is an area of disturbed weather that is under investigation for its potential to develop into a tropical cyclone. Maximum sustained surface winds are around 30 km/h (15 knots). Minimum sea-level pressure is estimated to be near 1005 hPa. No advisories or warnings have been issued for Invest 92W at this time. Information for Tropical Storm Queenie (Surigae): (from JTWC) Surigae (Philippine name Queenie, Japanese Typhoon Number 26) is located 663 km south-southeast of Kadena Air Base, and has tracked west-northwestward at 24 km/h (13 knots) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 5.5 meters (18 feet). Surigae continues tracking northwestward along the southwestern flank of the large subtropical ridge positioned to the northeast. Translation speed will decrease over the next 12 hours as the system approaches the axis of the ridge and the associated col region between the subtropical ridge to the east and a secondary subtropical ridge over central China. In 1 to 2 days, the system will slowly round the ridge axis and gradually turn northeastward to the east of the southern Ryukyu Islands.
