I live right near here, majority of the people there had been there for awhile and seemed to be left to it for the better part of a year. But there was issues with a lot of rubbish and some antisocial behaviour from a few that had rocked up and apparently the oldies there were vulnerable and police were attending regularly. The ‘services’ that are around here had awhile to find them accommodation, but didn’t. My dad has moved in with me because there’s very few affordable rentals in our town. It’s very sad. And there seems to be no solution coming for these people

The only power we have is to start having real conversations with other people regarding what is happening in Australia and the world. Yes we need a culture change, too many people looking after them selves and turning a blind eye to whats in front of them. I feel though that things are changing. There are a lot of people on platforms like this calling this stuff out. Far more than say…5 years ago. Dont be afraid to encourage a conversation with someone or take the time to comment on peoples posts. I am sure that the creators who felt compelled enough to make a post will feel even more empowered if they feel seen and heard. We never know someones circumstances for being homeless but i have learnt not to judge.

The system is broken. There is no point writing to your local MP or local Council. I have seen other areas in Kwinana where homeless people are. I have been to food shops where people have begged for food.
