🎀 Camán for a Cause | Ella & Aine’s Story Sometimes, camogie means so much more than what happens on the pitch. ❤️ Meet Ella, a young camogie player from Keady, Co. Armagh, who proudly represents her club and the Armagh U14 team. Three years ago, Ella’s mum, Aine, was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer at just 38 years of age. For Ella and her family, life changed in ways no family could ever prepare for. Throughout her mum’s treatment, camogie became an important part of Ella’s life. Whether it was striking a ball against the wall, heading to training or spending time with teammates, the sport gave her something to turn to during some very difficult days. The friendships, the routine and simply having a hurley in her hands meant more than most of us could imagine. Today, Aine is back playing social camogie herself, something she once thought might never be possible again. Ella continues to do what she loves, proudly sharing her mum’s story and helping raise awareness of breast cancer. We are incredibly grateful to Ella for sharing her experience with us, and to Aine for trusting us with such a personal part of their family's journey. Stories like theirs remind us why Camán for a Cause matters. Behind every diagnosis is a family, a community and people whose lives are affected in ways we don't always see.
