I was trying to remember the name of an occultist who usually comes to mind- and a keyword search kept having to be tweaked because so many came up who had opted out, so to speak. (I remembered it was Twyman but it was a *lot* of different people.) Most of them didn’t get into it because of a tv show, mind you- but the show does reference some things. And of course, if you do go down those rabbit holes, that’s also a facet you see repeatedly mentioned. The entire series has a BUNCH of references to a lot of things that have a tendency towards more or less consuming people. A lot of people talk about Hollywood etc etc and I am NOT doing *that*. I’m just saying the subject matter itself tends to do a number on people, whether they get into the occult aspects or not.
