hey so what if Eva said 'you have no close friends no immediate family not even a dog' so that he remembered that first and took it as truth. he remembers the things directly linked to the project because he's in space and that's what's triggering those memories awake so if he did in actuality have close friends and family it would take a lot longer to get any of those memories back, if he did even manage to trigger them back.

I think you're already thinking this with the ship of theseus caption but I think about this constantly, theoretically if he's missing enough memories he could have a different personality than the one he left earth with and thus be a completely different person. He'd already made decisions he wouldn't have normally made because he "knew" he was a brave volunteer.

well someone can fact check me but in the books he is actually injected with a separate drug and Stratt confesses on how it works and the duration so everything came back to him at around the same time as his flashback to the first time he’s pinned down hit him
