@thorsten.gutmann: Germany will help keep Uzbekistan’s passenger planes in the air until 2035. 🇩🇪🇺🇿 Uzbekistan Airways has signed a long-term agreement with Lufthansa Technik covering component support for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A320ceo and A320neo fleets. In simple terms, Uzbekistan Airways does not need to buy and store every possible spare part itself. Instead, the airline gets access to Lufthansa Technik’s large pool of aircraft components. If a covered part needs replacing, another one can be supplied from that pool, helping reduce the amount of time an aircraft spends sitting on the ground. The relationship between the two companies goes back to 1993, when Uzbekistan Airways received its first Airbus A310-300. More than three decades later, the partnership is continuing until 2035. Uzbekistan Airways is also expanding its international network and positioning Tashkent as a growing aviation hub between Europe and Asia. It is one of those German business stories in Central Asia that sounds technical at first but is actually very simple: keeping planes flying.
