Honestly I don't listen to the radio much and since I've started farming I've had many a conversation with God while sitting in the seat. Sounds like you have a great head on your shoulders man. Keep it above water.

I’m using a similar grain elevator that was built in the late seventies. I have a good supplier of parts to fix or update things and a painter who comes by yearly and keeps it nice. As far as the air strip we used a couple strips like that to land small crop dusters

Great advice. It’s ok to bust your ass when you’re young but don’t forget to keep perspective. My wife, children, grandchildren are my legacy, not dirt or buildings. I do have an airstrip though. Haha

If I run on Sunday it’s after church and I have nothing else to do because I’m gonna load trucks for Monday. By myself. Nobody else. Just me. I’ll dump on the turn row and just enjoy the day. Let everyone else have their Sunday off for the lords day. It took years to have that mentality so good on you!!

You hit the nail on the head. If you have children in the future it becomes even more complicated trying not to miss their childhood (4h, sports etc.). My oldest son is in his senior year and I can tell you that 18 years goes by fast. Luckily, I realized what I was missing a few years ago before it was too late.

Easy to get distracted from what’s really important. You could spend a lifetime building your vision even if it’s with your kids in mind but all along the way your missing out on the little things only to realize all your family wanted was you.
