I thought the same but then I saw people getting triggered and cursing the person for their fluffy words. Also on X there is plenty of hate, threats and vile insults that nice words are going extinct. For many it may be anticipatory and others for their personal reasons.

when I first joined TT, I couldn't even call someone a stale piece of bread without my comment being immediately removed. I've found TT censorship has been much more forgiving now but I still think it shadow bans comments based on certain language and they go under the 'hidden community reported' comments

The exception doesn't define the rule. Some people get to say whatever they want, and others have to walk on eggshells or face strikes and account bans. I think it's naive to believe the rules apply equally to everyone

I don't know if it's because you have a large following who will push your content more, but from experience, using these words gets my videos disqualified for fyp or I get hit with violations that have nothing to do with those words.

The wildest thing was when my students started saying "unalived" and "pewpew" in class AND in their writing (I'm a college professor). When I asked why, they uniformly said something about wanting to be appropriate 🙃🙃🙃

same rules don't apply to everyone. I constantly get videos taken down For nebulous community guidelines, discussing many of the same things you talk about. You never see them because they literally get taken down in under a minute. this happens to a lot of people. some people for some reason are able to talk about these things. others like me. literally just get every video taken down

Sadly many of my comments have been blocked/deleted by tiktok because of words like this. Even a private message to a friend with literally 0 "bad" words in it got me a warning from tiktok. Its ridiculous how much youre getting sensored in comments. In videos its different for some reason

I've had so many of my comments removed for using real words. I got to point I started taking screenshots then when comments were censored, appeals were lost, I'd then repost comment word for word, sentence for sentence to find out what had been offensive. Now I'm a nascent creator & can't get those off the ground. I'll figure out how get around that too 😡

I've had to change either the spelling of certain words (Israel, genocide, etc) or change the wording because tiktok wouldn't let me post comments. It most certainly is a thing but mostly for US users.

I’d agree for content makers. (I’m not) But there’s is most certainly censorship on comments. I’ve had dozens of “violations” in comments far tamer than the content I’ve replied to. Not to mention “violations” on most definitely not controversial comments.

Not so true during livestreaming, Tiktoks AI monitors the livestreams and give out violations and can even end lives and remove channels.
