Why the hell wouldn’t you use the black as neutral. You must know that new sparkies will come across old black & red twin and earth cables at some point. Absolutely ridiculous to not use black as neutral (and dangerous)

Technically, you’re not supposed to strip a cable using the earth wire, you’re supposed to use a knife along the length of the cable, I know in practice we don’t, but if we’re teaching shouldn’t it be done properly

When going back to the consumer unit, where would grey go since it’s a neutral? Back to neutral bar. And would black and brown be in the same breaker? Just trying to understand as studying lv3 currently thanks
