Be consistent with your drop off, make it quick and remind him you’ll be back for him. Don’t fold, because eventually your son will realize mom always comes back and he’ll gain confidence

My heart felt this video. My 2nd grader and I struggled so much. I was literally crying in the car every day for like 10 days. It takes a lot of affirmation and patience. He has to find a safe space. You can put a family picture in his folder . Find an aid he can find comfortable in and hold on to that aid with a small routine. Message me if you’d like

i was a kinder teacher, so i know how this goes all too well. i know it’s so so hard for parents to see their kiddos upset. over the years i had kids that would have huge meltdowns literally every day at drop off for months. some would even run out the door crying after their moms. HOWEVER, once mom left and the crying subsided, they’d have a GREAT day. they had friends, treated me with respect, and enjoyed themselves in class. but every. single. morning. it was an issue. i think for some kiddos it’s just the transition from home to school. i would ask his teacher how he behaves and interacts with others once drop off emotion subsides, because that may be the case for him as well ❤️

So hard but I think resilience is very important. Kids only know there’s an option if you give it to them.

My daughters in prek and were 2 months in and she still cries. Putting her to sleep super early 8-9pm helps a lot if she sleeps late then she wakes up mad.

After 2 weeks we decided to keep our daughter home for another year - no pre school. Just home with me. The following year she was so happy to go and we never had another issue with school. She’s a 27 year old married woman with 3 beautiful children. There’s no rush. One year of life and growing changed everything.

Took us about 2 weeks . Hang in there give positive affirmations. Offer a few Amazon toy / goodies that he can pick and have waiting for him when he finishes the week .

They're not meant to go to school kids know... they're not meant to be separated from parents. it's such a backward world. plus in Europe. They don't start kids in school until they're 7. seven years, mother and kids bond, so well.

I have so many people who experience this!! Literally as soon as the parent is out of sight, the kid is usually having the time of their life! My nephew throws a fit every single day and the teacher sends my sister a picture of him happy three minutes later playing with his friends and dinosaurs in prek! It’s just bc you’re there leaving him, I’m sure he adjusts as soon as you’re gone!

We pulled my daughter last year. It was the best decision for her and for us. Do what you think is the best decision for YOUR child. You know him better than anyone. ♥️

My vote is homeschool. For so many reasons. Definitely if he doesn’t want to go.

Teacher said it could take 2 months. It only took my daughter a couple weeks but only bc she saw another student leave their mom & he didn’t cry. Magically she stopped crying every morning after that! I know it’s hard, I was ready to pull her out of school (esp bc she’s only 2.5 years old) but in reality (for us) it was best for her to be enrolled in school. The first month is soo hard but once they adjust, it’ll all be worth it [Starry hearts]
