We have two (provided by the council) due to medical waste. Four different neighbours knocked on the first collection day, one has tried stealing it, and another regularly tried putting their extra rubbish into it without asking until we started taking their bags out, ripping them open and scattering it on their doorstep every time they did it.

as a carer I've found that homes of bigger families and homes with disabled people and with those of elders in continence items are entitled to a bigger and/or a second standard size bin OR you can pay the council for another bin

some councils do allow it, our council gave us another green bin because of my sisters needs when she had heart surgery because we used so many cartons of special feed, a tip to anyone who could use it!
