I was livung in an apartment with my husband 13-14 years ago. He was upstairs in bed and I was downstairs watching TV. It was a little after 2am and this lady starts banging on my next door neighbors door screaming for help. Like terrified screaming. I ran and opened my door (like 2 ft from my neighbors) and the lady that lived a few doors down was in her panties and bra, covered in blood mist and droplets, and bruises were coming up all over. She pleaded to come in and i rushed her in and locked the door. Her ex had come over after she broke up with him, held her in her apartment for hours and 🐝t the 💩 out of her. When she got away he stole her car and drove off. My husband and I helped her, called 911, covered her and ice helped her clean up a bit. I testified in court and the judge dismissed the case 🤬

Tread lightly. When I offered to help a former friend who was in an abusive relationship (she showed up at work with black eye, bruises and scratches on her neck and arms so I offered her a safe space at my home), SHE turned on me because I was “disrespecting her man”.

Call the cops, she can do it without saying who she is. The doorbell camera is evidence. I take it the camera is motion activated. This is DV, it's illegal, call the cops.

I had a similar experience with a next door neighbor. And our apartment doors are literally an arms length apart. I have called the police because the situation was really scary - I told the police I wanted it to be an anonymous report because I too was afraid of retaliation. The police never said anything about who made the report. Luckily they showed up in the middle of the fight so they could see & hear what was happening.

Well, first of all, you are not recording him. You are recording your front entrance. He just happens to be in it…. And second of all, I would approach her and ask her if she needs help… and let her know you’re aware of what’s going on… especially if the fights keep getting more more frequent.. because at some point he might seriously hurt her maybe even kill her and I know that’s terrible to say but that’s how these things usually happen…

I'd report it anonymously, however I wouldn't say anything to her to let her know that I've seen it. you can ask her if she wants to walk in the evenings and see if she'd open up to you.
