Dua Lipa got so much flack for her stage presence and dancing and was clowned for years but she locked tf in and her hard work shows

she’s saying she is the happiest she’s been and at the height of success but every song is like

Swift is coming to the horrifying realisation that once your needs are met, money can't buy happiness.

Yes! Blank Space was a perfect response to the backlash around her love life - clever but also vulnerable and insightful, and musically perfect. And that same team has now given us Cleveland lol

Yeah she’s incredibly angry and bitter that's what every song gave

So much of this album is focused on the public not liking her … but it sounds so petulant because at the time of release she was getting the most praise of her entire career including from non-fans due to the achievement of the eras tour. Life of a showgirl should have/could have been a loud joyful naughty proud celebration of both personal and professional success but it sounds like someone holding grudges after they won.

Let’s pretend the lyrics of these songs were better. Even so, I wouldn’t believe her “I’m so happy and in love” narrative because we flip flop between it and the most angry and petulant songs she’s put out. It reads like she got married to spite us and now has to prove she’s in love. Maybe she is. Idk. Idc. But it’s not believable. Like father figure was great because she was owning her anger and behavior. DO THAT if you’re mad.

it's also so far off from the feminist reasons people like her. one of her songs is literally just, idc if you hate me bc I'm married now, like what

You said it so well. Other fans love to say that we just don’t like her happy songs but they’re not happy they’re bitter!! Which is crazy if she is actually the happiest and in love she’s ever been

I feel similarly about actually romantic if it is indeed partly a response to sympathy is a knife because its like… you and charli just don’t vibe? And that’s okay?

Also people literally were so impressed with the stage presence during Eras. Like maybe some people said the dancing wasn’t groundbreaking but a lot of people complimented her on her growth. And so much of her documentary was talking about the work she put in to grow as a dancer. So who is she digging up these complaints from??? Like she’s always saying she doesn’t go online… sounds like she really should unplug.

i really loved when she said “im not sexy, or edgy, or cool” and countered that with “im imaginative, im smart, im hardworking”. it seemed at that time that she was very content with her strengths and wasn’t going to force herself into boxes she didn’t fit into. but now i wonder whether a lot of that messaging from her was actually rooted in insecurity rather than in confidence

She’s had every opportunity become a more adequate dancer, really. She’s been famous since she was 17. Manon from Katseye became a good dancer, able to keep up with the group, in just 2 years of training starting at like 19

Saying “she’s never been a phenomenal dancer” is an INSANE understatement. She’s not even an okay dancer. You don’t need years of training to make a piece of choreography look decent.

As a nonswiftie, i feel like what i’ve seen from the eras tour makes me wonder if she thinks she got better at dancing (it was a lot of choreo). and so the fact that people STILL don’t think she can dance stings ? idk

Every clap back song I am reminded of this lyric from mean: "Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me" I see it as a tragedy that she probably fully believed in this line.

From my perspective a large part of her image is rooted in her being a relatable character and now she’s a billionaire her music no longer has that relatability

Omg when you said reaching billionaire status might make her want to be praised in every category, it reminded me of the FRIENDS episode where Monica’s millionaire boyfriend gets into ultimate boxing or whatever it’s called and he wants to “conquer the physical world” because he had “already conquered the intellectual world” and some other stuff. The greed in billionaires is absolutely insane. And that is why, there has never been or ever will be an ethical billionaire. EAT THE RICH 🤑

i was literally just thinking this, shake it off is sassy and upbeat, like ANNOYINGLY upbeat, there was even the shake it off effect during the tour when everyone was dancing and singing so much during the song cause its so catchy, cleveland is just bitter
